Album Name: Veterans Appreciation Night, 2011 Return to Albums
Album Date: Nov 10, 2011
Description: Our Veterans Appreciation Night happened to fall on the Marine Corps birthday, which led to a celebration of all the services' birthdays, and an amazing number of birthday cakes. Check out the action.

Club President Jim Stormont calls the meeting to order. Jim puts last-minute touches to the presentation of local veterans then and now. The head table. Who knew Daren could look so spiffy? Bob explains it all to us.
This is a favorite night of the year for Muriel and Bob. Tom tinkles the ivories. Cy doubles as bartender. Everything is ship-shape back in the kitchen. Foster and guest.
The Coast Guard base is represented at the dinner. Connie represents the Army during the birthday celebration. Craig always brings a car-ful of veterans to the event. It turns out that Ann and Steve met when they were both in the Navy. The color guard are all veterans who wore their current uniforms -- police, fire -- for the occasion.
Since it's the Marine Corps birthday, the youngest Marine present is saluted. ... and so is the oldest Marine, John Druse. It's all about the veterans. Jim and Frank are at the size they once wore. Once a year we take a day out to remember and say thank you.
