Social Night
Last Thursday we all enjoyed a low key, but fun social night. A chance to visit and share stories. As always there was a lot of laughter and camaraderie. We work hard and accomplish a lot together probably because we really do enjoy each other and have developed real friendships.
Barn Boutique Manager, Barbara Thornton, gave a “Classification talk” last Thursday. (Your life in ten minutes or less). She has had a most interesting life, but with the help of multi-colored sticky notes was able to keep her talk to ten minutes. Barbara’s story includes the timeless heart warming, love loss, then found chapter with husband and fellow Rotarian, Greg. Barbara’s first career was in education, then she returned to school acquiring a degree in the Information Technology field in its early days. She loved this work, excelled at it and became a manager because of her fabulous organization skills. (Remember the multi-colored sticky notes - absolute proof).
This week is our Second Rotary Corn Hole Tournament. Karen Pritchard and Vice President Laurie Zimmerli will be officiating. They are sticklers for the rules. But, don’t forget rules are made to be broken. The competition (and laughter) will be stiff for the fabulous prizes so practice, practice all week. Will President Tory be the grand winner again? Will she remember to bring her cornhole set? No doubt it will be a fun evening. Family and friends are welcome as always.
We’ve started the weekly pick up of fresh produce from Veggies to Table in Damariscotta. We sort it, then deliver it to the library, Community Center and several neighborhoods. The amazing Judi White is organizing all this. She sure could use your help. Just email her at jah458@bellouth.net to participate in this wonderful project.
Don’t forget! Dues are due! Just mail a check to BBH Rotary, PO Box 518, BBH, ME 04538 or leave it in the desk drawer at the clubhouse.
We welcome all community members & visiting Rotarians to join us any Thursday at 6PM for a dinner meeting at our wonderful clubhouse, 66 Montgomery Rd, BBH, ME 04538. The Rotary Barn is open every Saturday from 8:30 to 11:00. We are accepting donations for the barn. Contact Deb at 207-380-3550 for drop off or pick up.
