Boothbay Harbor Rotary - Youth Programs

Interact is Rotary International's service organization for young people aged 14 - 18. The Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club sponsors an Interact club at Boothbay Region High School. These young people raise money through fundraisers, and then give the money to service projects of their choice. In this manner, they:

Develop leadership skills and personal integrity
Demonstrate helpfulness and respect for others
Learn the value of individual responsibility and hard work
Advance international understanding and goodwill

The 2009-10 Interact Club officers are:

We're mighty proud of our young people, who meet Wednesday afternoons under the leadership of club liaison Adam Maguire.This year they are raising money to support the home heating oil fund, and they also organized a trip to Boston to help out in a food kitchen. They built upon the success of last year's family fun winter carnival, "Winteract," and have sponsored a car wash and a spaghetti supper.
